Couldn’t tell if it was dishonesty, or just really poor staff communication
I came in to have a flat tire repaired, my car was taken in by the woman at the front desk, she was very friendly.
A man came out (I didn’t get his name) and proceeded to tell me that my tire wouldn’t be repairable and that there were “three or four nails in it” I told him I’d like to see the tire for myself, he came back empty handed and told me it wasn’t actually 3 or 4 nails, but 2 shards of metal that were too close together. But that I’d still need a new tire.
There’s quite a difference between two shards of metal and three or four nails. I worked several years part time in a tire shop through High School and college and can recall maybe a single instance of seeing 3 or 4 nails in a tire.
Whether it was an attempted unnecessary upsell, or just a totally embarrassing communication breakdown between employees, I don’t think I’d feel comfortable bringing my car back here.
