( New to me ). Silverado Took my truck in on time for the appointment. Aak the question. Are you sure my truck takes synthetic blend and not full synthetic due to the fact that the oil fill cap reads Dexos right on it etc. Then told by the service writer that it will be looked up and verified. Truck goes into the shop and up on the lift and drained. Then the Tech working comes in the office and notes on the work order that it is for my Tahoe. And they have my Silverado. Different vehicles 18yrs apart Different engines mileage and everything. Then have to enter all new information into the system and at the same time call Oriellys to quick change the order to a 2019 Silverado with 6.0L engine to get full synthetic oil and filter. Prior to this i had given them the information one more than once that it was in fact a 2019 Silverado with a 6.0L. I also noticed that the oil change reminder sticker was written to have me come back in 3000 miles. Tjat is fine for conventional oil. But full synthetic you can go longer between changes. Depending on on owners manual and manufacturer etc. I called the shop the next day and i asked about this as it was kind of strange. I was told by the owners wife that this was an error and they had probably missed adding a zero or a couple of numbers etc. I was also told that the tech says that oil is cheap and engines are expensive. During the conversion the owners wife got irritated with me. I explained i am sorry. I am not calling to cause trouble or give anyone a bad time and that i was just curious. Well as i was having lunch i got a phone call from owner Doug who proceeded to chew me out for even saying anything at anytime accused me of in the past "making snarky comments " informing me that they have cameras in the office area and that he has to hear about so called comments that i have made in the past etc. At the time he was on speaker phone and i had a witness to everything he said. Would not allow me the time to explain myself or even ask him what he was talking about. At the end of a one sided conversation told do not ever come back to his shop. Find another shop to do the required work on my vehicles. Was also told they could give me another oil change reminder to fulill out myself. Have a good day and goodbye. It is unfortunate that i also worked as an automotive tech in and out of the military for many years. I have been to tech school and even a tech college. I have also taken ASE certification tests etc. I ask questions because i know things and have been ripped off by other shops in the area. I thought i have finally found a shop that i could trust and could recommend to neighbors if they needed to get work done etc as with my previous experience. Unfortunately not. Good thing there are many other shops in the local area. I was contacted by Doug. I have no interest in being contacted by anyone from this business now or in the future.
