Don glo is the best!
I moved 45 minutes away and still bring my cars to Doug and Fred. Would recommend to anyone, a mechanic you can trust is worth their weight in gold!

Tow and inspection
Got involved in a car crash far from home, and the guys at Don Glo were very friendly, helpful, and professional. The tow driver did his best to get my car driveable at the scene of the accident, but had to tow it. The guys at the shop were very nice and helped to put my mind at ease in a stressful time.

Nobody likes a flat tire!
Quite a curb in the wrong way and found myself on the side of the road. Quick call to AAA and Don glo came out quickly to tow my car.

The people at Don glo ordered the proper tire balanced and installed it and back on the road I went.

Always professional and honest.

My Response to Doug
The complaint has nothing to do with the service contract. It has to do with the fact that marking up a part 250 percent is considered a fair business practice at Don-Glo. You quite reputably and openly did so. I just wasn’t aware that the part was being jacked up that much. I fully expected that you would be like most mechanics and charge cost, or slightly above cost, for the part and then make your profit on labor. When I asked why so high a markup, I was told that I could buy the business for 2.5 million dollars. The point is that any quote that you give for a part should be double checked by a consumer at Autozone or something like that, or run like hell, or just cough up the 2.5 million dollars for the business. If you are a consumer and don’t know the cost of parts, you should be prepared to get raped at Don-Glo, or go to your neighborhood, friendly, mechanic instead. That’s all. But your mechanics appear competent and work fast.

Doug seems to have missed the point entirely. This complaint has nothing to do with my service contract. It has to do with the fact that when I consented to the repair I wasn’t aware that you would think it’s a fair business practice to markup a part 250 percent and then told me after the repair that if I didn’t like it I could buy the business for 2.5 million dollars. Had I not needed the car immediately, I would not have allowed myself to get financially raped. But your mechanics are competent. It’s not a question of being reputable. Obviously you quite reputably and openly rape on the cost of parts. All that is being said is one shouldn’t expect your business to be reasonable on the cost of parts and that a consumer should double check your quotes with Autozone or something like that, or else run like hell or just pay the 2.5 million dollars for the business.

Review of Don-Glo IV Yonkers Service Center
Let me start by saying that their mechanics appear competent and work fast.Having said that, don’t walk but run away from this shop. Their markups on parts is tantamount to usury or financial rape. They marked up a part on me almost 250 percent. When I asked why so high, the answer was if you want our service that’s what it is or you could pay 2.5 million for our business. Very Nice. I thought I’d give this shop an opportunity, but they charged $550 for a job I could had done for $200 at my regular, community mechanic. My advice is if you can. avoid this place like the plague, especially if you don’t know what repairs and parts actually cost because they will rake you over the coals financially. An educated consumer is a smart and protected consumer. If you don’t know, if you go to Don-Glo, watch out. Find a mechanic whom you trust who will charge you cost, or slightly above cost, for a part - it is what many mechanics do - then charge you a fair price for labor which is where most of their profit should come from. At this place, you are a number and a profit center, not a person.

My Review of Don-Glo Yonkers Service Center
First of all, their mark-up on parts amounts to usury. If you are towed there you are kind of a hostage to their pricing policies. They are so busy they couldn’t care less, their attitude is you can take it or leave it. If you can, have your car towed to another, friendly, community, mechanic whom you trust. Especially if you are someone, perhaps a woman, who doesn’t really know what repairs and parts coat. Don’t walk, but run elsewhere. Find a smaller shop, with a more personable, ethical mechanic who will treat you like a person and not just a number whom they can fleece with their pricing policies. If I can help it, I will never return and will tell all of my family and friends to stay as far away as possible from Don-Glo Yonkers Service Center.

SORRY YOU FEEL THIS WAY, BUT IT IS NOT OUR FAULT YOUR CAR REPAIR CONTRACT WAS NOT IN FULL USE YET. AND 
THE FACT WE SAID NO TO DOING A SECOND CLAIM IN A FEW WEEKS. YOU WERE AWARE OF THE COST TO FIX YOUR CAR, AND TOLD US TO GO AHEAD AND FIX IT, AS WE DID.
WE ARE A REPUTABLE, AND HONEST BUSINESS FOR OVER 50 YEARS, AND PLAN TO KEEP A GOOD REPUTAION.
