Dane Motors exemplifies "excellent customer service"
TL;DR: Dane Motors may speak quickly and concisely, but they listen and want to help you get in and out just as much as you do *and* as painlessly as possible. Very reasonable prices, if not the best I've found in inner southeast Portland so far.

It's not often that a business is described as "compassionate," but that is how Dane Motors' crew is. My vehicle had a major issue, but I couldn't afford to fix it at the time; it finally had to be towed to their shop when the car gave out. They gave me a new quote for repair, which was significantly higher than the original. I had been budgeting for the expected expense and was devastated. In the end, they stood by the original quote they had given to help me out, which I am so very grateful for. A genuine 'faith in humanity restored' kind of situation.

I had been referred to them by a neighbor who had had their own unexpected automotive misfortune; they raved about how Dane helped them get it taken care of. Based on their glowing rec, I switched garages and tried them out. Zero regrets.

I was over charged for an incomplete brake job.
My first visit was a good experience. They changed out my dead battery the same day for a good price.
My second visit they said my brakes were shot and charged $2400 for a brake job but did not change out the calipers.
When I went to another mechanic to get the calipers changed they said they would have charged $ 1700 for the brake job that included calipers.

Excellent neighbor
My van decided to start leaking coolant and I brought it to this garage. They quoted me a reasonable price and we agreed to complete the work. It was finished quickly and without issue. The staff were very kind and thoughtful, and kept me up to speed the entire time. I’m very appreciative they were able to fit me in for a repair so quickly and were up front through the process. Couldn’t ask for a better garage.

Quick & Honest
This is my second time taking my car to Dane Motors. This time around I went in for oil change but with their thorough inspection determine other service was needed. They were able to finish the job same day! They are very trustworthy and honest and have always treated me right. I will continue to go back and am happy to have discovered this place right in the neighborhood!
