2024 Santa Cruz Issues - Poor Customer Service
Purchased a brand new 2024 Santa Cruz from this dealer at the end of August 2023. Just 3 months later the vehicle is in the shop with radiator issues. Car overheated and started smoking. I am being told they will not cover this as part of the warranty. Customer service team has been very short with me and not helpful. I do not understand how a brand new vehicle can have a mechanical issue like this and they try to tell me I need to pay to fix it... hoping this can be resolved.

Extended warranty
I purchased an extended warranty for my car when I purchased the car on April 28, 2021. On my paperwork the warranty was for 72 months, 145,000 miles. When I reviewed the paperwork for the warranty I found out it expired. I needed to have some work done on my car. The dealership put the wrong the date on the warranty. As of May 19, 2022. Colonial Hyundai claims the warranty it not good now. I am really upset about this when I am still paying for the warranty. Colonial Hyundai does not give a darn about my car warranty situation at all when it is their fault. I would not recommend their dealership anymore. This is a bad experience for me. I am a senior citizen and my son wanted me to have an extended warranty for my protection with the car. New owners have taken possession of the dealership.

VERY DISCRIMINATE
I was pre-approved from my bank had an appointment for a Hyundai showed up ro test drive the car once the salesperson person seen I was a Transgender women he replied and said the vehicle has a flat tire call you later today to test drive the vehicle I was also informed that I couldn't use my voucher from my bank .he never gave me his card and as I walked out the door he replied we don't deal with people like you it's been 2 weeks the car still on the lot for sale never called me.so if your Transgender or gay don't go to this dealership they a VERY DISCRIMINATING VERY SAID

Salesman - Jim Ballezzi

Attempted to purchase a Hyundai Santa Cruz. During the process salesman Jim Balezzi was verbally and physically threatening and abusive. Mr. Balezzi was bullying/threatening us into buying a vehicle all the while the owner, John Ashdale, listened in and did nothing himself to stop Mr. Balezzi. Mr. Balezzi verbally threatened the owner of "Joey's Pizza" that he was going to have him arrested/have the cops called on him for overcharging him for a pizza delivery that he purchased for us so we would stay at the dealership and not leave. He verbally abused/threatened this owner over the phone where all employees and customers could hear. This intimidated me enough that I went outside and called my bank to cancel the loan due to his threatening/bullying behavior. When I returned back inside Mr. Ballezzi had my bank rep on speaker phone pretending to be me and verbally giving the bank rep my social security number, address, and date of birth. I never authorized the release of this information nor for Mr. Ballezzi to write it down nor say it out loud verbally. Mr. Ballezzi was pretending to be me, giving out very private/sensitive information so he could complete a sale all the while the Owner, John Ashdale, sat feet away listening and allowing for this to occur and proceed. Mr. Balezzi charged my credit card $3,000 for a down payment and an additional $75 as a processing "fee." The dealership refused to immediately refund my card. Mr. Balezzi threw my card at me and stated "you'll get a check in 2 to 3 weeks in the mail." I persisted and he refused to refund the $75 processing fee. I contacted owner John Ashdale via email and phone. During the phone conversation he admitted that everything Mr. Balezzi did was unprofessional. Now Mr. Ashdale and Mr. Balezzi are bullying me into returning the spare key, and will not come retrieve it themselves. I feel intimidated

Bait and switch
What a awful experience. Went down to test drive and buy a Elantra limited
Did a test drive, negotiated a price and I handed my sales person a deposit. I told him I was not feeling well and said I would come back to pick it up early next week. He went to
Sales office, came back and handed me my check back, said the manager did not want to let me pick up the car next week but said he would call me in the morning. True to his word he called me first thing in the morning
And said he would send me the papers and deliver the car to my house. When the papers came via email there was 530.00 in costs never Mentioned as well as a 500 priced increase. He Then resent it to me after my objections again raising the price.
I called Fred Beans in Doylestown, got An exact price, payment over the phone, was emailed the EXACT same
Price info I was told on the phone
BUT the car was a 2023 (not 2022)
And 1700.00 less with no hassle
BEWARE of Colonial Hyundia

My advisor name Melisa Cortez, got really hostel with me because I questioned the price for the oil change. She then said “that they made made price changes” I made my appointment online and it says $39.95 the bill was $50.
She was so mad she grabbed the papers from the desk and storm off very rudely. Kathy the cashier , just stood there and didn’t say anything. I asked for the manager ( Mike) while I’m explaining to him how I was treated, he apologized and didn’t speak to Melisa, in front of me because he said, he can’t speak to he’s employees in front of customers. Well, melisa was just rude and very unprofessional in front of other people. But I guess that’s OK for Colonia Hyundai to treat customers.
I will never go back. But Mike should hire quality and qualify people to deal with simple questions and be polite to customers. Melisa should NOT be an a advisor.

The experience was the best I have had with any dealership. Customer service was amazing. Jo was the best and kept me updated throughout the day. They shuttled me to and from work and had a lovely driver and enjoyed my conversation during the ride.
