Poor service, over priced, terrible work

I paid almost $4,500 for a new transmission that never work right from the time I left the shop even though they had my vehicle for 26 days. After 2 more weeks in the shop the fix was to add a new filter and change the fluids. Still the transmission shifts hard and slips.
After several times back and forth
Over a 6 month period I was finally told that the warranty had expired since I had driven too many miles since the original repair. I have spent over $5,000 for a junk transmission that has now failed completely. Tim said theywon't be able to fix the transmission and now I can't even sell the car. Take my advice and go to another shop for your transmission repair.

Transmission failed in 2 weeks

Paid $4,200 to have a transmission rebuilt, it failed 2 weeks after the repair. Because I had moved to Utah and couldn't get the vehicle back down to Arizona for 3 months. I was told that the warranty had expired and would have to pay another $4,200 to have it rebuit again. I will never use this shop again. They do not honor their work.

Do not use this place

About 18 months ago, around October of 2022, i brought my suburban in to have the 4L60 rebuilt with choice. Tim sold me on upgrading the internals so it would be more stout. Over the next 12 months i had about 6 Pan gasket leaks, with flaring and slippage issues. They replaced parts here and there, but never believed me because they couldn't get it to duplicate the problem, but they also never took it out and drive it for more then 5-10 minutes. I finally picked it i one morning and drove it to duplicate the problem and brought it back to them on my time. By this time the transmission has been pulled and "rebuilt" 2-3 times and the gasket has been replaced about 6 times. After the third rebuild the transmission grenaded leaving my stranded on the side of the road. After this incident they started with a fresh core supposedly. 6000 miles later it was slipping from 2-3 and missing its shift Point from 3-4 . Then it started leaking and getting fluid on the main connector which is what Tim blamed the problem on. They fixed the leak and low and behold 30 minutes into my drive home 2-3 started slipping and 3-4 had a lengthening shift point. I spoke with Tim who said they did not drive it long enough to duplicate the problem, then proceeded to gas light me because i made him feel bad because this is my daily driver and they are wasting my time and money. He advised me my truck is the only one with issues ever and it must be something with my truck. He also told me that he would be ok with this as a customer because they are doing everything they can. He acted as if he was doing me a favor by getting my truck in, even though i have paid well over 4000$. I have a 3 year warranty and have had no longer then 6 months of consistency with the transmission. Do not use choice transmission unless you want to risk sub par work and even worst customer service.

Unreliable work

Great People - Way Overpriced

Tim seems to be a great guy and has good people. I had to get my gear shift removed and reinstalled. They had to order a new part and all-in-all my car was there four days. Initially picking up my car, I had great feelings and went out of my way to tell Tim how much I liked his company.

The next day I looked at the receipt and realized that they missed an oil change that I requested along with the other repairs. It wasn't a big deal to bring my car back in and have them do it for me the next day. I was shocked to receive a bill for $110 for an oil change. A basic oil change. No rotating tires, balancing tires, just the oil change.

At that point I lost all respect and creditbility for his company. I had planned on bringing my car in routinely if I heard or had any issues. I will never take my car back after that. I wish Tim and the company the best of luck but be careful and get a second quote. I read online the work he did should cost not more than $378 but total was $607, however with inflation I could understand the difference.

His communication is excellent and they seem like they are very knowledgeable, however I will not be coming back to his shop.

Great service at a competitive price

I took my truck to Tim and Choice automotive for a second opinion about an overheating issue I was having. After some troubleshooting they were able to figure out the issue and get it resolved and their price was much lower than the first opinion I received. Thanks for getting this resolved guys.

Honest, integrity and friendly

My family has used Tim for many many many years. He is always so happy and a pleasure to interact with. He always calls to confirm work BEFORE it starts and is quick to suggest way to save money on the work needed. Being a female,, when repairs are needed, I've never been made to feel foolish asking question. 100% confident in recommending this shop

Old car kept in good running condition

The friendliness of the front desk person and that they take a genuine interest in each of their customers. They also don’t take advantage of the customer. Very fair in the repair costs and quality work is performed. Thank you so much Jason for running a business with Christian principles.
