No one could even tell me what was wrong with my 2012 GMC terrain… Except Car-Doc!

My 2012 GMC terrain with 215,000 miles on it began flashing signals to check the stabilitrack and the all-wheel drive and eventually went into safe mode. I took it to a GMC dealer and all they could tell me was we checked the codes and there are a lot of problems but we need to go to another level of analysis which will cost $1000 and then who knows how much to repair. This was a dealer authorized to work on GMC‘s ….the kicker is they then charged me $164 to tell me they didn’t know what was wrong with it, but it was pretty serious. Lol !!! Another automotive repair shop told me they could not tell me what was wrong with it because there was no check engine light on! Fortunaty theydid not charge me for that but told me to bring it back when the check engine light was on. Anyhow, I called Car Doc and lo and behold, the mechanic, Cory, told me “we’ll pull the codes off that are in there now” and confidently told me I think we got this. They asked to keep the car for a couple of days, and checked the codes and there were a lot of communication problems going on and also a strand of a wire that was shorting out causing a myriad of problems. Cory and his team we’re able to fix the problems and even showed me pictures of what they were finding! The repairs came to around $1500 which I was ready and happy to pay to get my car back on the road. I went from thinking I was gonna have to get rid of this car and spend another $15,000 to replace it and I have to say I’m happily driving the car and it’s running like a top and is in great shape otherwise.I highly recommend Car Doc and thank them and especially Cory for the amazing work, great communication and fast turnaround. FYI, I looked at replacing my current vehicle with an identical vehicle that had 150,000 miles on it and a local dealership wanted $8000! Go to Car-Doc. If they can’t fix it, no one can.

It sounds like you had quite the wild ride with your Terrain, but we're glad to hear that it ended on a high note! Evidence of a wire mishap is like finding a needle in a haystack, and we're glad our mechanic had the eagle eyes to spot it!We completely understand the anxiety that comes with car troubles, especially when those digits start piling up. Watching your dreams of a new car almost become a reality can drive anyone up the wall. Kudos to you for sticking with the Terrain, it seems like it's earned its keep after all those miles.
