2023 Hyundai Elantra with Jose at Broadway
Jose was professional and great to work with!! I recently got the 2023 Hyundai Elantra with Jose and I can't express how happy I was to go through this dealership. They made it easy and were able to work with me on what I was comfortable with. Jose listened to my wants and was able to help in EVERY step of the way. This was the first time I purchased a brand new vehicle, so I was nervous about making sure I made the right choice. Jose helped ease my worries and get everything I asked for. I HIGHLY suggest going to Broadway on Military and talking to the team to get your next car.

THE GOOD, BAD, AND UGLY
My wife and I had an appointment to get some items added to our 2023 Santa Fe Calligraphy. Some items were included as part of our vehicle purchase on 1/31/23. It took several months to obtain the items needed to install the tow package. After finally working the details out, as I explained in my past review, we took the vehicle to our appointment scheduled on 4/7/23 at 8:00 a.m. While we purchased a Hyundai, all the appointment schedule emails indicated we had a Ford Service Center appointment.

THE GOOD

Upon arrival at our scheduled appointment at the Broadway Ford Service Center, we were promptly greeted and informed that the vehicle should have started at the Hyundai Service Center. Still, they stated that was fine, and their staff processed our appointment. The staff quickly set up a courtesy rental vehicle while we waited for installation. They noted that we were supposed to get a tow package, window rain guards, wheel well mudguards, and our resent purchased license plate surrounds from the Broadway parts department.

THE BAD

We were told that the installation might last the whole weekend. We advised that we were given an early morning appointment to install all the items in one day. The reason for the arrangement was that we live 2 hours from the dealership. This issue was quickly resolved so that issue would move to the good category. However, when we received a call that the vehicle was ready for pickup, we were advised they could not install the passenger-side window rain guards. The reason being the rain guards were found to be broken in the package. The trouble is that I was informed over a month ago that the Parts Department received the items and was still waiting for the tow package items. No one bothered to check the parts' condition before our arrival to install the items. As stated above, we live over 2 hours away from the dealership. As a result of this oversight, we must make a separate 4-hour round trip plus the installation time needed to place the items on our vehicle.

THE UGLY

We were told that our vehicle and the paperwork would be left at the Hyundai Service Center. When we arrived at the Hyundai Service Center, we returned the rental vehicle and went to the service desk. I met with Tony and advised him that we were there to pick up our vehicle. He seemed annoyed with us and was not paying attention to the information we provided. He checked some drawers and went to another area to see if he could locate our vehicle. He returned and said they would bring the vehicle over from another department. I asked if they would also bring over the paperwork, and he stated he hoped so. He was curt and dismissive to my wife and me during the whole experience. We left the area and waited for our vehicles to be brought to the Hyundai Service Center. After about 20 minutes later, we called the Ford Service Center to see what was happening. They transferred us to the body and collision center. They did not know anything about our vehicle either. They stated they would check into it. Eventually, we had our vehicle returned.

On our way home, I activated our cruise control, and the vehicle applied the brakes and the collision warning activated. The system was then disabled, and it stated that the forward sensor was blocked. We stopped at a parking lot and found that the installation of the front license plate was blocking the sensor. When I got home, I removed the installed license plate surround and found that they had removed the factory connection and placed two new holes in the bumper. They also failed to place the factory equipment in our vehicle. I drilled two new holes in the license plate and reattached it in the new holes to see if that would temporarily resolve the issue they created. Our new vehicle has two new holes in the front bumper, and I have a damaged plate.

One would think that the dealership would have informed us that the front plate surround would not work and informed us about the potential issue. No, they installed it like an amateur, and now our new vehicle is damaged.

I have no confidence in a dealership that can't communicate and coordinate with its own departments, damages vehicles, and treats customers rudely after the sale. Broadway has potential, but I recommend finding a dealership that works with customers after the sale. At this point, my wife and I are pretty upset with Broadway.

They are by far the worst service center around
My wife and I have purchased a 2023 Santa Fe and had nothing but problems with the service center. We have called to set up an installation of items we bought with the vehicle. We drove 2 hours to have it serviced. We had some problems with the vehicle being checked and wanted an oil change. When we arrived, I again went over why we were there and listed everything we wanted to be done. I told them the parts department contacted us and would like the items installed during the visit. At that time, the service department took the notes and stated they would let us know when it was ready for pickup. I later received a call and was told they could not identify the problems we experienced and said it was ready for pickup. I asked if the oil had been changed, and they stated they didn't know about it. They had to take it back in and would call me when it was done. I also asked about the parts installation. They then stated they don't do that, and I would have to work with sales and another department. I told them that I had talked to the service department when I called about the problems I was having and again when I dropped it off for service.

NO ONE STATED THEY DON'T DO THE INSTALLATION OF PURCHASED ITEMS FROM THEIR PARTS DEPARTMENT.

I went to the sales department, spoke with the Sales Manager, and was advised that they do not deal with the installation. However, he went out of his way and ensured we solved the issue. That was the only reason I felt I would continue working with Broadway. We now have an appointment to install all the items we had purchased as promised when purchasing the vehicle.

I wasn't going to provide a bad review due to the sales team's hard work cleaning up the inept service team's mess.

However, on 3/31/2023, I called as the driver's seat belt would no longer latch. This is a severe safety issue. My wife and I called the service department to have an appointment to fix the issue. The service center female (no name provided) took the information and tried to get us to schedule the problem on their web scheduling system. I asked if that was how they do service-related business and would not help over the phone. She became rude and stated in a CURT loud voice said, "I am helping." She said she had my number and was pulling up our information. We started to set up an appointment for Friday to check the vehicle. She could not provide any times and said they would attempt to squeeze us in. We live two hours away, and she was not being helpful and continued to be rude and abrupt with us. At that point, I advised that we were done with Broadway and would never purchase another vehicle from them. We ended the call. I then stopped at Kocourek Hyundai in Wausau. No appointment: their service team immediately came out and evaluated the problem. They quickly identified that the item was defective and ordered the replacement to be installed (wow, a service team that orders parts and does installs).

The Service Department at Broadway does not provide accurate information, does not listen to customers, and is a waste of time and money.

I would strongly recommend avoiding Broadway Hyundai when purchasing your next vehicle and go to Kocourek Hyundai in Wausau, as service after the sale is what it is all about.

Does not stand behind service and causes inconvenience to customer
In January 2022, my car was serviced at this Hyundai dealership to have my Catalytic converter replaced. At that time the service department said that I had to come back in February to have the O2 sensors replaced. Which they did. Unfortunately, on April 19, one week after my oil change, I was driving when they came out. I luckily got to the nearest repair shop (Young Automotive). At that time, they identified that the O2 sensors were stripped and came out due to not being installed properly or being defective. I contacted the Broadway Hyundai service department and at first they wanted to know WHY I didn’t drive the car down to them? I had explained that the car was losing power and I had to get to the nearest repair shop which was an hour away from the dealership. Then they said that since my car had more than 60000 mile that it was not covered for this type of repair. The mechanic and warranty specialist at the local repair shop tried repeatedly to contact the Broadway Hyundai service department to send pictures, and email requests to let them know that the problem was related to the last repair performed by Broadway Hyundai on my car. Many emails came back as being “declined by the receiver”, phone calls went unanswered, or they said they would contact the service manager. I had service records to show that Broadway had replaced the catalytic converter and the O2 sensors. This went on for 10 DAYS until I finally contacted the service manager myself who stated that he knew nothing about this. Hyundai finally drove to Sturgeon Bay to pick up my car. I had to rent a car during this time, costing me $626.46 (which I still have not been reimbursed for).

Poorest service ever
We bought a new 2018 Santa fe, every time we brought for an oil change they always say we need new brake and rotors even a week after I personally installed new brakes, back in February of 22 it started to use oil bad, very bad so we brought it in to be looked at and the service department treated us as we were stupid and said that Hyundai wouldn't warranty it cuz that's normal but they change the service interval down to 3000 miles on synthetic oil, that was the fix, well now the car is using ALL the oil between the 3000 mile change and that is suppose to be normal. We own plenty of motors that are bigger and work more and not a one uses that much oil, if it does there is something wrong and needs to be fixed, but they keep saying that is normal. I'm not a "certified mechanic" and why should i have to fix something that is has full warranty on it, that what they get paid for. In all the back and forth they said Hyundai wouldn't warranty it, but come to find out Hyundai never got contacted about it. I give the Broadway service department -10 stars. I wouldn't bring my peddle bike there to get the tires pressure checked, that how much faith I have in their "certified mechanics". A warranty if needed is to "fix" the problem, not prolong it until the warranty is void. In my years of working on motors I have never seen one burn oil this bad and not get fixed. But Broadway Hyundai must run off a different book than others. When we buy a vehicle it not because of the sales department, it the service after the sale, and that is not happening, they will gladly trade your vehicle in on a new one before the fix the problem. 20 thumbs down to Broadway Hyundai service department!

Service Manager's promise wasn't kept
After I initially gave a less than favorable review because of an exceedingly long wait for an oil change and recall service and also, being charged to use a credit card and for a small service fee that was never explained, the service manager reached out to me. He explained by email that they were low on staff due to Covid that day. I still believe that I should have been told that prior to or when I arrived for the service so I wouldn't have been sitting in the waiting room for 1 1/2 hours trying to be patient but wondering what was going on. Yet, after he explained the situation to me, I was understanding of the reason. He insisted on sending me a coupon for future service to show they can do better and requested that I change my review because those are kept track of. I was impressed by his words and changed my review to a favorable one. Then, I never received anything in the mail, even after waiting months and giving him a friendly heads up about it in case he was too busy. So, he succeeded in getting me to change my review and then I never heard back from him. Wow.

Terrific service!
Cudo's to the service team, in particular Nick H, service advisor.
While traveling on vacation from OH to WI on a Friday afternoon, we encountered problems with our 7 yr old Sonata and were stranded along the roadway 45 minutes southeast of Green Bay.
Called Broadway Hyundai and Nick provided us with towing service to facility. Within 2 hrs we and our Sonata were at the facility where Nick had already prepared a rental car and service order to repair car!
Vehicle was diagnosed the next business day and repaired! Nick also took the time to drive the car an extended length of time to ensure repairs were thorough and complete. Also topped off the fuel tank and washed the car!
And as this repair was covered under warranty, there was no charge for the tow or rental car!
What remarkable service! Nick and the service team allowed our vacation to continue as planned with only a slight inconvenience!
What could have been a disaster turned out to be a very positive experience!

Thanks again Nick and team at Broadway!

Quality control
The staff worked tirelessly to correct an obscure electrical problem with the tailgate on my new Tucson. It took a few trips in to get it fixed but in the end it WAS fixed. My thanks to the techs, service writers and management of Broadway Hyundai.

There are times I get great feedback on what my car needs and then there are times I’m just rushed out. Also the online booking has not worked in a long time, it’s been very inconvenient to call and be on hold to schedule a car tune up.
