Charged me for mechanic's mistake
Took my Audi to Bridge Auto. Had a Service Engine light and was idling rough. They pulled a misfire code. It was determined by them to be an injector. This was after they replaced a spark plug on the cylinder with the misfire and moved the caps around and having the misfire reoccur. So far so good. I was quoted $681 for this repair. While i felt this was incredibly high for this repair, they had my car for a couple weeks at this point and I was a repeat customer, so I approved the work.

It was explained to me that they needed to remove the intake manifold to access the injector, which I was aware of. After another week I called to get an update and it was explained a clamp was missing from the injector and they needed another day. I then get a call from them telling me that when removing the intake manifold the mechanic broke the vacuum hose to the brake booster. This was not an issue before and was not part of the repair. The first person explain to me the I was going to be charged about $300 for the replaced of this hose that the MECHANIC BROKE.

Obviously this didn't set well with me. After several minutes of speaking with her she put another person on the phone. I explained that I shouldn't have to pay for a part that was broken by the mechanic. I manage a motorcycle dealership, and we don't make customers pay for mechanics errors. Never in 37 years have we done that. Never in the history of me getting my cars serviced have I been charged for mechanic error.

I was told that the owner would call me and talk to me before they continued, because i was adamant about NOT PAYING FOR THE MECHANIC'S CARELESSNESS. This was on a Monday. Then on Wednesday I call to get an update because I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE OWNER. I was told the car was all done and running smooth, and the bill was $980+ dollars!!!!! No call from the owner, and they charged me for the part the mechanic broke.

No explanation as to why they proceeded, no call from the owner, not even an apology for the carelessness of the mechanic. The explanation was that a tiny skinny nipple broke and because it's plastic its fragile. So instead of taking care when removing the manifold, the mechanic was careless and broke the part and I got stuck paying for the part and the labor for his mistake.

Think twice about bringing your car here. They lack adequate communication, show no remorse for their mistakes, and could potentially break or damage parts that aren't part of your repair and charge you anyway.
