Explained in great detail the known problem with my vehicle but they did more then what I asked them to do.
I brought my car to their store in Mandeville as per appointment at 7:30 AM for an oil change and a "simple diagnosis" of the throttle body - cold idling. I explained in great detail what had been diagnosed and what mechanic work had been recently completed by my 30 + year brother mechanic and myself. I SIMPLY ASKED AMANDA TO HAVE HER MECHANIC DETERMINE IF HE COULD DO A RELEARN SETTING ON THE THROTTLE BODY IN ORDER TO GET A SETTING ON THE COLD IDLE AT START UP. I also informed Amanda that three (3) scanners had been previously used and that NO ERROR CODES were identified BUT the relearn / reset was not identified. After almost 2.5 hours of waiting, Amanda said that the "technician" said # 4 cylinder had a misfire. I immediately asked Amanda for a printout of the misfire diagnosis. She told me that she didn't think they had the capability to print the diagnosis but would give me the error code. She returned shortly and told me that there was no error code obtained BUT that the technician would have to investigate further and remove some of the parts to get to the # 4 cylinder. She said it could be a vacuum hose or other defective part but would not know until that was done.
All said and done, Amanda presented me with a $232.00 bill. After explaining my disagreement about what had been "done" and the bill, she spoke with the "technician (owner I believe). she reduced the bill to $132.00.
Needless to say, I will not return to Autoville for any future work/diagnosis on my vehicle.
