If I could give negative stars, I would.
Avoid Autocare Tires and Service at all costs. This was one of the most dishonest and frustrating experiences I’ve ever had with any business, period.
I brought my truck in for a very specific issue — hard shifting between 1st–2nd and 2nd–3rd — along with a basic oil change. I even confirmed with them ahead of time that it would be done the same day. They told me it wouldn’t be a problem.
They did absolutely nothing.
No call. No update. No courtesy. I had to call THEM five minutes before closing just to find out they hadn’t even touched my vehicle all day. Completely unprofessional.
Then they hit me with a $901 quote for a transmission fluid change like it’s normal to throw out absurd numbers after doing zero work. I told them very clearly: do NOT touch the transmission, just change the oil.
The next morning is where it gets shady.
They hand me a bill for $172.48 — for an oil change that was quoted at $81. No explanation, no breakdown, just a random number on a blank invoice. When I questioned it, they claimed it was for “checking the transmission.”
I never authorized that. In fact, I specifically told them NOT to do anything with the transmission.
So either:
1. They did work without permission and charged me anyway, or
2. They didn’t do anything and just added fake charges
Neither option is acceptable — both are dishonest.
And then comes the classic scare tactic: “You’re going to need a new transmission.” No diagnostics, no evidence, no explanation — just a lazy attempt to push a massive repair bill. It felt like they were fishing for thousands of dollars, not actually trying to fix anything.
This place doesn’t operate with integrity. It operates like a cash grab.
They wasted my time, ignored my instructions, charged me for work I didn’t approve, and then tried to upsell me on a major repair with zero proof.
I wouldn’t trust them to check my tire pressure, let alone touch anything mechanical.
Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else.
