Hello. My name is Michelle and I work for Racetrack Towing/Racetrack Auto and Marine in Berlin, MD. Our company spent $90,000 on a tow truck back in 2019 thru Matt at Atlanta Wrecker in Georgia and it has been nothing but a disaster. Upon receiving the tow truck, the undercarriage of the bed was already rusting, the boom was not functioning and actually completely dropped (thankfully nobody got hurt). We reached out to Matt and he told us to start throwing parts at the tow truck which he did send us, but when you purchase a vehicle it should be ready to go, not in shape where we have to pay our own technicians to work on it! So we followed the directions, spent hours of labor trying to fix the problem after we were sent parts that did not work. Finally, we got it towed to Beltway Companies (who were OUTSTANDING), they fixed the truck, and told us exactly what happened. After two years of this tow truck sitting because it was broken down and not being used, it is finally back on the road, no thanks to Atlanta Wrecker! All we asked from them was to cover the cost of the labor for the parts they sent us to fix their mistake which they would not do. They also refused to put forth any effort in helping us with the $1,000 tow bill, the $25 an hour we had to pay a tow truck driver to take the tow truck there and back twice (12 hours round trip), plus the fuel. When we tried to contact or even talk to somebody about just getting the cost of what we paid to get this truck fixed since it was broken upon delivery, we got unprofessionally hung up on. The owner of Racetrack even tried to reach out to talk to ANYBODY and Matt and the Secretary at the Georgia location would answer and immediately hang up. This is no way to run a business or company and it is so mind blowing how unprofessional they are and how they handled this situation. The owner of Racetrack has been in this industry for 20+ years and has NEVER experienced something like this, which is why I'm reaching out on his behalf. It is also crazy to me that such a company would employ such disrespectful people who won't give somebody one moment of their day to talk after we wrote them a check for $90,000 for a broken tow truck. We will never purchase a tow truck from this company again & I would recommend the same for all. It's such a shame as we have a fleet of 14 tow trucks!
