Tuscon safety issues
The Tuscon hybrid feels like a luxury car to drive. It’s very quiet and adequately powered. My mileage avg. over 4 months driving is 36 mpg. However, the 2025 Tuscon has what I feel are some SERIOUS safety problems listed below. I am not recommending any 2025 Tuscon to anyone until these problems are fixed!
Throttle limit.
Ex 1.Several times while stopped at traffic lights on hiway speed, multi lane county roads, while resting my hands on the middle of the steering wheel, the cruise button was unknowingly pressed. The light turned green, rear traffic was coming up at 50mph on both sides but my throttle was unresponsive being Hyundai programmed to 20 mph max when cruise is pressed while stopped
There is no way to disable this feature on the 2025 Tuscon.
Ex. 2 The drive mode button is very easily bumped and sets the car to “snow” mode and limits throttle response.
Driver diversion
Ex. 3 Every time I drive this car, with or without sunglasses, I get an audible, flashing alarm saying “consider taking a break.” multiple times is a row, sometimes just minutes apart. There is no way to disable this alarm on the 2025 model Tuscon. On one occasion, the display alarm took my eyes off the road long just enough to miss seeing a junk water heater roll off a truck in front of me. Extreme evasive action was required to miss hitting it.
